i just figured that i would post a lil bit of what's been going on lately up here in good old provo. pretty much it's been the usual stuff with school and crazy roommates and the totally hormonal weather (it can't seem to make up its mind as to if it wants to be spring and actually stay that way--very female in my opinion, at least arizona is predictably hot, lame-o utah!)
i had a new experience a couple of weeks ago. think chalk. lots of chalk. the roommates and i--at least most of them-- went to the festival of colors at the hindu temple in spanish fork. we got there a little late, so most of the chalk was gone, but we were able to mooch off of other people and get reasonably dirty. good times in our lives, huh?

then, i had my folk dance performance! in january, lanae and i tried out for the team and both made it into the club, but on different teams. anywho, it's been way fun being on the team this semester. there's a group of us from my team who all have a break after class, so three mornings a week we have breakfast together. we've had a good time or two, if you can imagine. so on the first day of class our teacher asked us which dance we wanted to do in the performance and everyone said that they wanted to do turkish cuz it has some saweet moves and music and costumes and is pretty much the bomb.com! you can imagine our pumped up-ness when she told us a couple weeks later that we had been assigned to do the turkish dance. then, she proceeded to tell us that because they didn't have enough of the authentic turkish costumes, we'd have to wear 'contemporary' costumes instead. basically, contemporary is code for boring and completely not cool. throughout the performance, my team was all staring longingly at the colorful and exciting costumes of the other teams, envisioning the day that we will get to wear something that is at least slightly flashy and colorful and ehtnic-looking. ok, maybe that's a little dramatic, but seriously, i felt like i was wearing pants that my first grade teacher wore--think 1995. but despite all that, it was really fun and i loved being back on stage.
the team in our flying v formation, and yes, that is an allusion to mighty ducks

the team. you can be the judge of everyone's creativity for the "funny picture" my fav is the lurpy/ ochie crouch of the kid on the far left.

but maybe not...

i = keira knightley. oh baby, pirates of the carribean 4 here i come. let's be honest, i wouldn't make it all that much worse than the last one was.
